"Your location is exposed"

How could AVG protect me, if it has no clue what community I live in? Duh, I already know what you are trying to sell me…that explanation is unncessary. This issue requires some introspection on your part, not pre-recorded, irrelevant answers

You totally miss the point. What I'm saying, is that AVG thinks I live 200 miles west from where I actually live. Therefore, your sales pop ups are absolutely worthless for trying to get me to buy more services from you. You don't do your homework very well

We're sorry for the miscommunication, Glenna.

From your description, we understand that your AVG Internet Security is displaying a potential privacy threat, about your location being exposed.
As you surmised, this is a campaign/advert for our AVG Secure VPN product.
AVG Secure VPN is an application that allows you to connect to the internet via secure AVG VPN servers using an encrypted tunnel to protect your online activity from eavesdropping.
We'll certainly consider your valuable feedback regarding this issue & try our best to improve our products & service.
Let us know if you require further assistance.

It's really funny that I get these so-called warnings about my location being exposed, when the location is a couple hundred miles off from where I am actually located. It would be a better sales gimmick if you gave the correct location. My computer has always given the wrong location, for some reason. I bought it brand new, from the town I still live in.  LOL!

Did you try to click on "Resolve All" and check what happens?

The performance or privacy issues or outdated drivers which are showing at the end of AVG Internet Security scan or at the bottom of AVG Internet Security program are an actual issues found on your PC but those issues can be fixed by AVG Secure VPN, AVG TuneUp and AVG Driver Updater respectively. The issues listed can be fixed by those two programs so if you want to purchase those programs, please click on resolve now, it will be redirected to purchase page or if you do not wish to purchase it, just click on "skip for now' and skip those campaign pop-ups.

We would request you to refer to this article: https://bit.ly/3BZOxYI and uncheck AVG offers and promotions.
Thank you.

Hello Glenna,

My name is Jovana and I'm with the senior support.

I understand your point, and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

You are completely correct, and your comments have been passed on to the team.

The inaccurate location you're seeing is more of an advertisement for our VPN software than a precise location. It is not showing an exact position, but rather a larger area of some country. Still, your concern is well noted, and we'll do our part to improve it. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and your experience too, as we are constantly working to improve our products, services, and customer support.

Rest assured that this wasn't the experience we wanted you to have, and, as my colleague mentioned above, you can always disable these offers from showing up in a few simple steps:

Open AVG, then go to ☰Menu ▸Settings ▸General ▸Personal Privacy and un-tick all the boxes under Offers.

I hope this information is useful. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any more assistance.

Enjoy your day! Jovana
