Hello A E,
Thank you for contacting AVG Community Support.
We'd recommend that you submit the detected website for false-positive analysis using this link: (https://www.avg.com/en-gb/false-positive-file-form#pc). Once you've submitted the false-positive report, our concerned team will analyze the detected website and if found harmless, they'll whitelist it right away. Furthermore, they'll update the status via email.
Thank you for understanding.
OK. I tried to install ZA after the 24 hour wait period and "Installation was cancelled" window came up. I updated AVG Program yesterday through the AVG software and tried to install ZA again but, it wouldn't install after the Program AND virus definition update so, I went to ZA Tech support. The agent spent about an hour and tried to fix the issue (I gave him remote access to my PC) but couldn't and recommended I unstall AVG to try to install ZA. So, I unstalled AVG just now and I ran the AVG Clear and tried to install ZA again but, no dice. After what looked like some progress in the install, that window came up again saying "Installation was cancelled" but no info as to why. I don't know what to do now.
Oh gosh. I rebooted last night and then, went to bed. I got up today and, though the PC was on the Desktop, there was a window alerting me that there was a problem in the reboot and that it encountered a blue screen. I checked the ZA folder and the EFRService.exe file was removed as well as the ZA program from my program menu. I then opened up my email and saw that you guys fixed the issue and the file is now marked "clean" but, it can take up to 24 hours. Oh well. I guess I'll wait till tomorrow to reinstall Zone Alarm then.
Hi,
I am using AVG AntiVirus Free software version 23.8.3298 (build 23.8.8416.791) on Windows 7 Pro.
I installed Zone Alarm free Firewall yesterday and, a file in one of the ZA folders was recognized as a virus by AVG which said I had to reboot to completely get rid of it. Here is the folder path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\Endpoint Security\EFR
I'm sure it's a false positive but, I don't want to reboot and have this file disabled and, possibly it disabling Zone Alarm. What should I do?
Thanks for your help.

Appreciate your efforts.
Once you submit a request, a group of analysts will review the file & whitelist it, if it is found to be safe or goes through clean notes of AVG.
However, it isn't recommended to have multiple antivirus/firewall on the same computer, as they'll conflict with each other & compete for resources.
Thank you in advance!
Well, the issue actually began after the install of ZoneAlarm the first time. AVG deleted the file from the ZoneAlarm CHECKPOINT folder recognizing it as a virus. From that point on, I could not install Zone Alarm. So, I went to ZoneAlarm and their tech guy deleted all ZA entries in my registry to see if ZA was at fault but, that didn't work so, he suggested I uninstall AVG.
We appreciate your efforts & technical knowledge in working towards fixing the issue.
From your message, it is evident that AVG isn't blocking the installation of Zone Alarm, as the issue persists, even after removing AVG.
It seems that the issue could be either with the setup file of Zone Alarm itself or other app running on your computer that could conflict.
In this regard, we'd suggest you to reach Zone Alarm support with AVG removed, to further investigate on this.
However, we'd recommend to run one firewall or security software on a computer, as informed earlier.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
P.S. Just to bring this up again, I did sucessfully install ZoneAlarm the very first time and, that was with AVG running. But, then AVG had falsly recognized as a virus one of the files in the "CheckePoint" folder (Zone alarm folder) that I mentioned before…EFRService.exe and, when I rebooted, AVG had removed that file AND ZoneAlarm from my program menu. But now, as things stand, even with the program and virus update, I can't even install ZA at all now. Thanks for your help.
