I was really shocked when I have installed the latest version on my new PC as I couldn't find some features which I was using on my old PC quite often. I almost canceled my subscrpition as I don't want to pay for something which I am not getting.
But after reading all posts I can see that you are giving your best to migrate old features from old engine to new one. That is really good as I know how it is hard to maintain old SW (as I'm working as Suport Engineer and I am in contact with R&D on daly basics) and should bring some benefits to end users as well.
I would just recommend you to have both versions (the latest (lets say beta) and previous full stable) on main page and some recommendation when to use which one.

Yes, "Sleep Mode" is our "Background & startup" section in TuneUp now. It includes all running processes as well as startup. So if you turn off, for example, "Office", all its background components (startup + services etc.) are, too.
Regarding the rest: I'll discuss with the team, but I think in general you agree with our priorities and what we're building - and vice versa! I hear you loud and clear about the subscription piece as well, but don't worry: We'll get there.

Almost May… After paying a subscription for a downgraded tuneup with no updates in more than 1 year… this is starting to be something more close to a fraud each day… AVG is clealy killing tune up… the rest is just… bla bla bla bla…
I too have been using TuneUp for many years from way back before AVG took it over and dstryoyed it!!
One function that I have used hundreds of times over many years has been AVG Registry Cleaner!! It has helped fix problems and making ,my pcs and laptops usable again. I really need this function back NOW!!
Another thing that pisses me off is that IF I can install my original version of AVG PC Tune-UP it gets automatically "updated" to the newer AVG TuneUp!!! One AVG support staffer told me to simpy uninstall the new version and install my old version. NO!! You cannot!! I get the error "To install AVG PC TuneUp you must first uninstall your paid copy of maintenance product."!!
I have used both avgremover.exe and avgclear.exe and still get the same problem!!
I switched to AVG Ultimate from System Mechanic Professional in 2019 since IOLO was a pain to deal with and I believed I could get the same Internet Security and PC Tuneup functionality with AVG. Apparently I should have made the time to investigate AVG Ultimate a little closer; hence,I agree completely with the previous AVG Customer comments. Quite disappointing but somewhat understandable from a marketting perspective. Amazon Prime Video & Music are doing the exact same thing...get you accustomed to the full package of benefits, then strip the best benefits from the package and then offer those best benefits in another "Deluxe" package for a premium price. So what AVG has done is not too surprising but if the previous comments in this thread are representative of the majority of AVG customers, this move by AVG will backfire.
With respect to AVG claiming that the change to AVGTuneup was based on customer feedback, I know that that claim is the standard scripted AVG response to customers who react negatively to the change. Seriously, customer feedback requested that you remove beneficial features from the product? No one that I know with any common sense would make that request. Give us less and make us pay more??? Not! That line of logic does not improve AVG's credibility with their core PC-proficient customer base.
So unless AVG resolves this issue in 2020, many people including myself, will be searching for alternatives.
By the way, does anyone know of a good alternative?
The new AVG Tuneup 2019 has a prettier interface but is a major step backwards with more than half the useful features missing. I would NOT be prepared to continue a subscription for that! The previous version of Tuneup worked great and wasn't broken untill someone at AVG decided come up with Tuneup 2019. You can download the old version on www.avg.com/download-avg-performance-803 I guess if I get forced up upgrade to a substandard version of PC Tuneup in future which is how software companies like to do it they like to decide what the consumer should have even if the consumer hates it I wont renew next time on the not so merry go round!

This makes the software completely useless and i also really do not like that you blame feedback of users for this options being removed. I find it very hard to believe that someone would like to have a software with almost all the options removed. This is very shady business and i really regret renewing my subscription. If these options are not back by the end of my one year subscription then i will definetelly look for something else. This really has all the indications that we paid a full price for a beta version.

Hello all I decided to use the previous version of the software as at the latest version lots of functionality removed. Yesterday I received a popup that my serial has expired although my renewal expires at Dec of 2022… I unistaled and reinstaled again the version of the software I used but when I enter the product key the sw says that it's not valid… What is happening?
I paid. For all the features. Features are gone?! Disk space explorer missing, really?! So I'm canceling and reverting to old version, With or without subscription. I paid once, and was fooled. Such a shame, it's basically stealing.
Please stop trying to make us think is becouse "feedback from customers" no one wants to remove 21 features that were working and getting nothing in return… and all for the same price !

These ones were working perfectly ! and are clearly usefull removing them has no sense at all.
I am a tune up user since many years ago… and I know each part of this SW ! have been using it every day during years… Now tuneup is only a tool for auto disable apps nothing else… and for the same price !! almost 50€ per year !!! comparing this version with the rest during years !! is just a joke !
What u have done is not kistening feedback… seems more like a deliberate way to earn the same with a much lower develop cost… just compare versions !!! is like comparing a lamborgini with a bicycle !!! you have totally break tuneup !

I want my files back! * AVG System Information - useful tool now have to use things like cpuz/gpuz/aida64/dxdiag WTF? * AVG "Fix Problems" - you're jocking… this was the single tool that convinced me to make a subscription! * AVG Improve Performance (HW, SW, Internet, Visual Effects) - veeeery freaking useful tool, especially when you're giving your old hardware through family members and "tune-up" them to their need - * AVG Startup Optimizer - for hdd drive owners ? must have AVG Repair Wizard - not used AVG System Control - not used * AVG Styler - not used * AVG Process Manager - much much better than windows one for the sole feature of PER process check and much better GUI design, easier process search, control and killing along all running users. Missing feature for me? performance tab with CPU per logic core usage (win task manager), CPU temp (cpu-z),CPU frequency per core (cpu-z) ,RAM memory usage(win task manager),RAM temp(aida), hdd/sdd usage(win task manager), GPU usage, temp, freq, limiter, gpu mem usage (all gpuz). Adding this on a single tab, in a single program that could also log it, would be an invaluable help in PC bottleneck checking. AVG Performance Reports - not used
Summary: - features I'm missing most (from most urgent): 1) Drive Defrag 2) Process Manager 3) Fix Problems 4) File Undelete 5) System Information - info on what the program actually did !! I ran thru solve problems and the only info I got back was "solved 2 problems" WHAT ?!? WHERE? WITH WHAT? HOW? Where are the options to decide what to do? Where is the info what was found? where is the info on what was the result of the repair attempt?
For who is this tool created - a 5 years old? Please don't go Microsoft way of treating users as dumb-dumb idiots that have to be blocked from accessing the Control Panel because they can brake too much there.
To be frankly - I do not trust the program now to let it go through my system ! I have no control of what it is doing, no info on what it had done, no way of running the tools I need as a single utility/standalone version. Unfortunately, I've noticed all of this later than 14 days after my subscription auto-renewal. If it were before that time I would use my EU citizen right to annul internet order post-fact due to "non-compliance with contract" and "false advertising". Now I'm stuck with you for another year with butchered application for which I had paid full price. I'm canceling my subscription and not renewing it without major updates and features back program.
So… "our priorities got shifted and we have been focusing on other products in the last year"…
First is not 1 year… almost 2 ! Second… are you saying that we have to pay this app as a service subscription… and very expensive 69 euros per year… but you don't have time to support the development of the app and you also want us to pay more for less ? So… all the money we have paid during these 2 years have been put in other projects ? With no support for us? Are you admitting that this is a scam / fraud?

I can confirm regedit is back but under "Tune UP PC inherited applications" is difficult to understand that "inherited applications" so… this app Tune Up is no more Tune Up ¿?
You said AVG Disk Space Explorer was back in this versión but that is not true…
About "fix Problems" you said it was allready in 18.3 but that is not true again… since it only fix data problems… what obout optimization, style and the rest of things that was working before ¿?

Please this is a no sense bring back all apps ! and not as "inherited applications"… but native features as allways !! We have been using this app since many years ago… each version was adding new features getting a more and morec omplete app each year…

But I have bought a 2 year license of this app… that means the app and 2 years of support and updates… The app I bought was very different than this… so where are the updates for the app I bought ¿? the only thing I got for my support with this project and my license is a totally breaked app…
Each year I am waiting for a fresh new version and new features… and now… this version is clearly the end of tuneup… trying to get more money and give us less than half than before… good work !! I cannot understand it…

OMG, thank God I did a search and read some threads like this, as I had allowed my paid subscription to lapse for several months and used the free version, which I am on now, which updated today automatically, then asked me to all it to fix all my so-called performance issues, suggesting to delete MS Office 2016, etc. WHAT??? I chose to research if this was a good idea, allowing the free Tuneup option to "clean up" my computer.
I found a whole host of comments from the Google search and here, NOT TO DO THAT!!!! Even Microsoft says that AVG is good, but their Tune Up program will screw up your computer...and many AVG customers said so!!!
Then I find out, as I was for the last few months thinking about renewing the Ultimate AVG subscription, SAW THIS THREAD about how all those great tools were removed without any permission on the customer's part. Oh, but then I read in some threads that AVG Customer Service Reps kept basically saying:
"We decided to remove all those features because customer surveys etc said the customers didn't want those things." That is when I about lost it. Does anyone really think we're stupid enough to believe that line of bull?????
No, AVG, just admit the truth...you want to package those things separately so you can make more money!!!! You know...I don't mind some surprises...but I hate those who lie to your face!!!! So now, do you think I really will buy the product and upgrade back from the free one???
I will let you figure that one out...as people are waiting to see what you're going to do with this product.
About my answer for your coments about AVG Startup Optimizer –> This is part of Sleep Mode.
When u said Sleep Mode I suppose you meen apps suspension ¿? if yes then I think here there are different posibilities…
- An app that auto-start during windows startup and if you had added it then will auto sleep - An app you manual launch and if you had added it then will auto sleep
Both are ok but the posibility to customize what apps will auto launch during pc startup… is integrated in Sleep Mode ¿? if so that's good !
